Natural vs. Synthetic Oils

Bullenbees Skin Tip of the Week:  Natural vs. Synthetic Oils

Skincare products that contain natural oils as their moisturizing base are superior at restoring damaged, chapped, and weakened skin.  Natural oils (e.g., Avocado oil, Flax oil, Jojoba oil, Black Cumin oil, Raspberry seed oil, Rosehip oil) contain antioxidants, polyphenols, catechins, flavonoids, and fat soluble vitamins that are absent in silicones and mineral/petroleum oils.  Natural oils are bio-similar and readily absorbed in skin, easily transporting their nutrients deep into dermal layers of skin.  This ability to transport antioxidants, polyphenols, catechins, flavonoids, and fat soluble vitamins deep into tissue is how natural oils restore skin.

Silicones and mineral/petroleum oils feel nice when they are applied, and they are inexpensive compared to natural oils.  Though they feel nice upon application, silicones and mineral/petroleum oils impart no restorative effect to deep dermal layers of skin.  Few skincare manufacturers include natural oils in their formulations, as they are expensive and synthetic products fool the user with the smooth feel they get upon application.

All of Bullenbees Skincare moisturizing products are made with natural oils!  Check them out at www.bullenbees.com.
